Canadian born artist Mae Moore has lived on the East Coast, West Coast and many
regions in between and it is her love of these landscapes that drew her to painting.
Although she is perhaps better known for her music, she began her artistic journey
with paintbrush in hand.
Artist Statement
“I feel fortunate to have been able to travel throughout many communities in Canada
from Newfoundland to Haida Gwaii, through maple sugar bush, down the sagebrushed
foothills to the fjords of the Great Bear Rainforest. The landscapes of this country
are the source of my inspiration...the ever changing sky of a prairie summer
or the way that light falls on a slack tide.
The colours that I use are more about the ‘feeling’ that I get from
what I am observing in this world.”
